Jordan 23
The inspiration for this project is Michael Jordan and his influence on American society.
Jordan’s greatness and success led to a certain unity in American society, and managed to blur the boundaries between the Afro-American and Caucasian population.
The best example to explain this phenomenon was when a famous radio broadcaster debated these changes in American society as he described an
incident, which was quite extraordinary in his eyes, when he heard a white boy telling his father that he wants to be like Michael Jordan when he grows up.
My garments are an integration of the late 1980’s Afro-American street wear, and the “white-collar” fashion of the Caucasian population at the time.
The back of the woman’s garment is made entirely of
second-hand jeans.
